Curriculum Vitæ
I studied physics at the École Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne and the University of Texas at Austin. Through Tom Rizzo I got involved in Physical Chemistry, and did my diploma thesis in helium nanodroplet spectroscopy at Princeton University with Kevin Lehmann and Giacinto Scoles. I then did a PhD thesis in the same group, working on the superfluidity of helium nanodroplets and on the spectroscopy of molecules solvated within these droplets. My first postdoctoral position was in the theory group of Ignacio Cirac at the Max Planck Institute of Quantum Optics in Garching, Germany, where I got involved with quantum simulators and quantum simulations. After a short stay at the NIST ion storage group in Boulder, USA, I moved to my current position with Philipp Treutlein at the University of Basel. Since 2016 I am also working in the Human Optics Lab of the University of Basel, studying external influences on the development of myopia.

Impermanence is a Mathematica package that provides variables whose content changes randomly over time. The longer a variable is allowed to sit around, the more its content changes from its initial value. |
